KID Heist #1

"I know as much as you do, Kudo," answered Saguru, texting rapidly as he watched the police force infiltrate the building. "Just figure it out yourself, I have to be ready to move at any time."

"Do you want me to locate his aura, dear?"

Hakuba glanced up at the smirking witch. Then he realized that he had had a magic user in front of him this whole time. The detective smiled. "That would be appreciated, love."

Akako closed her eyes and concentrated. Then a sly smirk appeared. "Found him."

"I'm trapped here, damn you blonde boy"

Saguru raised his eyebrow at the brunet. "Frankly, I'm starting to wonder if just leaving you here was the better option. You're so very rude."

"And you have a stick shoved up your ass!" said Shinichi, as annoyed at the sight of the blond as the Brotish teen was of his 'gentlemanship.' "Now help me out."

"You honestly think I'd help you after you said I have a stick shoved up my ass?" questioned Saguru, sighing. "Really, is that the best you could do? You make me feel ashamed."

"Just shut up and get me out. Or there will not be pretty consequences."

Saguru just rolled his eyes at that.

(XD Wow... Sorry guys, but Shinichi seems a bit OOC... Is that 'cause of Hakuba? XD)

(It's all Saguru's fault. :3 He can piss off any boy guaranteed!)

(I love how for the past three pages, KID himself has yet to post anything related to his actions.)

"Mou, Yusaku, have you seen the news?" Yukiko waved a newspaper in front of Yusaku's glasses.

"No, I haven't." Gently, Yusaku took the newspaper from his wife and gave her a smile. Adjusting his glasses, he read the headlines.

Toichi...

"Yusaku."

Toichi stood in the middle of the room, pacing about. The smile that the magician constantly wore was gone, replaced with a worried frown. The fact that his friend was frowning at all meant something was wrong. Very wrong.

"Yusaku, if I die..."

Yusaku's eyes widened. "What do you mean, if you die?"

"You know what's been happening recently at my appearances..."

"Yes. I know."

"So...if I die..." The magician turned away from his friend.

"Are you giving up?" Yusaku's voice was cold.

Toichi turned back, anger on his face. "Do you think, after so many years of knowing me, that I would give up like that?" he asked hotly.

The anger drained out of his face. "It's really...no...sometimes I wonder what I got myself into...all those years...all those years...my family..." Toichi buried his face in his hands. If Yusaku didn't know his friend better, he would say he was crying.

Yusaku stood there, watching his friend, broken and a shell of what used to be. The fact that his friend was in that kind of situation broke Yusaku's heart.

"If I die...Yusaku...will you...?" The magician lifted his face from his hands. Yusaku placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You know I will."

Which was why Yusaku was here.

For some reason, there was some sort of commotion. He quickly located a police officer.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"Sir," the police officer said loftily, "I believe you must leave the scene right now. Let us policemen take care of this business. It is simply a KID heist and there is no need to panic. None at all."

"Keiji, if there was no need to panic, you would not evacuating the scene," Yusaku said calmly. "There is something wrong. The line that you had originally set up to keep people clear of the scene has now been pushed back, it is obvious from where the marks were. In most situations, there is no need to do that. Now please inform me of what is going on."

"Sir, you are not authorized to–"

"What is it?" A new voice entered the scene as a man with a moustache and a large orange hat cut off the police officer. "Kudo-sensei!"

"Megure-keibu," Yusaku said, smiling. "It's been a while."

"Indeed it has." Despite the upbeat tone, Megure looked decidedly...troubled.

"I can see it on your face, Megure-keibu. What is it?"

"There's something wrong with the heist. Hakuba Saguru stated that there might be criminals, targeting KID..." Megure's voice was lost as a helicopter roared over their heads.

Yusaku was frozen. You were right... "Is there anyone left in the building?"

Megure looked up. "Ah..." he said, as if unsure how to put it. "Yes. I believe...Hakuba Saguru and Koizumi Akako were up there with the police officers at the start of the heist and I don't believe they have come down yet. Also...your son."

Shinichi...

Yusaku needed to get into the building. And fast.
